Call for applications: Doctoral Research Associate

The Center for Psychosocial Organization Studies is seeking a Doctoral Research Associate for a one-year, renewable, part-time position. This is an unpaid but flexible opportunity for doctoral students, and clinical and academic psychoanalytic candidates who want to deepen their engagement with psychosocial perspectives on organizations, work, and society. Doctoral Research Associates will gain experience in research, grant writing, fundraising, and communications, while also participating in Center reading groups, seminars, and mentoring opportunities. Benefits include free membership, listing on the website, mentorship with a research associate or board member, publication and presentation opportunities, and networking with an international scholarly community.

The role is designed to complement doctoral study and professional commitments. While unpaid, it has the potential to evolve into a funded position as CPOS expands its grant writing and fundraising initiatives. We welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds, especially those historically underrepresented in academia, psychoanalysis, healthcare, and business.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. To apply, please send a cover letter, CV, and names of two references (letters not required) as a single PDF to: Mindy Duncan, surfacingtheorg@gmail.com.

CPOS Fall/Winter Study Group begins September 18

In this set of readings we will explore Christophe Dejours’ Psychopathology of Work. Each month, we will read and discuss chapters in the book along with relevant articles, reflecting on how unconscious processes, organizational structures, and subjective experience shape work and mental health. Our goal is to develop a shared conceptual and clinical framework for understanding the psychopathology of work and strategies for organizational practice.

Anyone who is interested in psychosocial perspectives on organizations, work, and society is welcome to participate. We meet every third Thursday at 11am CT.
