CPOS study groups offer those interested in organizational, psychoanalytic, and political theories with an opportunity to expand their knowledge in specific topic areas. Attendees include students, faculty, and community members. Participants read a series of  papers/chapters and  discuss the papers in the context of psychosocial organization studies.

This group is designed for those who have a basic understanding of ideas in organizational or social theory, and/or psychoanalysis. Anyone who is interested in psychosocial perspectives on organizations, work, and society is welcome to participate.

Meetings are held every third Thursday, 11am to 12:30pm CT, September to June. Discussions are facilitated by CPOS associates and conducted in English. The monthly meeting is held online via Zoom. This fall and winter we will explore a book edited by Christophe Dejours, Psychopathology of Work. Participants will read and discuss chapters in the book (along with relevant articles), reflecting on how unconscious processes, organizational structures, and subjective experience shape work and mental health. Our goal is to develop a shared conceptual and clinical framework for understanding the psychopathology of work and strategies for organizational practice.
